The long overdue web store for Northman Books, the small publishing company created by my wife Jeanette and me to publish the Strongbow Saga books, went live this week at www.northmanbooks.com. Autographed copies of the Strongbow Saga books, with personalized inscriptions if desired, can be purchased from the store. Also available are Strongbow Saga t-shirts and pewter Viking Dragon emblems and Thor’s hammers, for use as key rings, or which can be used to make reproduction Viking era jewelry.
Through the web store, we are also offering thirty percent discounted pricing on purchases of three or more copies of the same title by book clubs or church groups, and thirty percent discounts on any book purchases by schools or libraries. Booksellers may purchase books for book store sales at forty percent off retail.
Love the story. I look forward to book 5 and the “prequel” story too.
Thanks!
Hello Mr. Roberts,
I just wanted to ask, since you have your own publishing press, why don’t you look for other authors and publish their books for them? It’s very profitable and I’d like your business to grow as I am a huge fan of your series. It would also give newer authors a chance to become recognized.
Sincerely,
Sean Kurian
Thanks for the suggestion, Sean, but we’re a very small scale operation–we contract a lot of the work, such as formatting and printing, out, and are geared and sized just to publish my own books. It would require too much of my time–which would slow the pace of my writing–to publish other authors’ books, too.
When will you bring out the next in the series of the Strong bow saga? I rated your fourth in the series a three but made it plain that it was NOT the story line OR the plotting but with the editing errors. I made clear that I felt the story was far above the norm. Now, just so you have a meter stick to evaluate MY judgement, I am 73, and have a Doctorate in Chemistry. Personally, I cannot (or rather, would not )want to wait until the next in the series is out. I thank you for writing these great stories.
Bob, I’m very glad you wrote. I did see the review you wrote, and have wished there was some way to contact you. Book 4 was very carefully edited both by a professional copy editor and by me, and repeatedly proof-read on three different e-reader devices to look for formatting errors, so I was quite surprised to read that you found a lot of editing or formatting problems when you read the book. I’d very much appreciate it if you could tell me what type of device you read it on, and if you could perhaps direct me to some of the errors you encountered.
I’m glad you are enjoying the Strongbow Saga. My plan is to publish The Beast of Dublin, which is a stand-alone historical thriller but also somewhat of a prequel to the Strongbow Saga, in 2015 and I hope to get the final book of the Strongbow Saga out in 2016.
